December 20, 2004, Edgewater, MD: The American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) today announced that Fiber Glass Industries (FGI) has signed on as the newest sponsor for the ABYC Composite Boat Builder Certification (CBBC) program.
In conjunction with Structural Composites, Inc., and support from sponsors such as FGI, ABYC has developed both an entry-level Laminator course designed to give students a basic foundation and understanding of the strict guidelines required of workers when building a composite boat and the CBBC course, which is designed to provide a thorough understanding of marine composite construction for those who want more advanced training.
Paul Lierheimer, President of FGI said, "FGI is excited to partner with Structural Composites in support of ABYC's training efforts. The materials and information provided in these courses are excellent, and we feel this training is an important component driving the growth of the composites industry."
Bonnie Barsa, ABYC's Education Director said, "We would like to thank FGI, as well as our other CBBC sponsors for their support of this program.
