ABYC 2007 Schedule of Certifications and Seminars Released

Increased regional demand drives record number of courses for 2007

November 20, 2006, Annapolis, MD: The American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC), a leader in technical workforce training, education and certification programs for marine industry, has released its 2007 schedule of certification and seminar courses.

"We are holding more classes than ever before in 2007," said Mike New, ABYC Education Director. "In 2007, ABYC is making a concerted effort to schedule our courses regionally across the country. We will be testing out a number of new locations in response to the ever increasing demand for ABYC certifications by the marine technical workforce. Every one of our major certifications will be offered at least once in each region of the country. We encourage both individuals and organizations to plan their education and training budgets and schedule early," concluded New.

In addition to scheduled training, ABYC also offers flat rate, on-site training courses, seminars and custom tailored technical education and training offerings that can be hosted at any location upon request - both nationally and internationally.

Registration information and detailed descriptions for any of the courses can be found at www.abycinc.org, or to host an ABYC course in your area, contact the ABYC Education department at (410) 990-4460.

ABYC has been developing, writing and updating the safety standards for boat building and repair in the United States for over 50 years. ABYC is actively involved with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) as well as education and certification programs for marine technicians. These standards are available on CD-ROM, online (Web-STIR) and in printed form. Membership and general information can be requested by visiting the ABYC web site at www.abycinc.org.
