ABYC Launches New Dynamic Web Site
October 2004, Edgewater, MD: The American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) today announced that it is launching its newly redesigned and user-friendly web site, www.abycinc.org. All previously available information has been migrated into the enhanced design and combined with the updated content to create an attractive, dynamic navigational system that includes increased features, which in total will improve its utility and ease of use.
Highlights of the new redesigned ABYC site include:
- Online registration for educational seminars and workshops;
- A secure Online Bookstore where visitors can buy and download copies of the individual ABYC standards and ISO documents;
- Ability to purchase industry publications online;
- A searchable Member Roster (for members desiring to particiapte);
- The latest trade communication from ABYC on the News & Events page;
- A Members Only Site that will allow members to pay dues online, view complete editions of ABYC's member newsletter ABYC News, and many more "member only" benefits;
- Automated voting and commenting on drafts and standards for committee members; and
- Streamlined downloads for Project Technical Committee documents (meeting preparation at the click of a button).
Skip Burdon, President/CEO of ABYC recently stated, "We are all very excited about the complete makeover of the ABYC web site." ABYC has been developing, writing and updating the safety standards for boat building and repair in the United States for going-on 50 years. ABYC is activley involved with the Internatioanal Organization for Standardization (ISO) as well as certification programs for marine technicians.
