SeaArk Marine, Inc. Steps Up Support for ABYC and Boating Safety
September 8, 2003, Edgewater, MD: The American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) today announced that SeaArk Marine, Inc. recently renewed their long-standing commitment to boating safety by increasing their annual membership support level to the standards setting organization.
SeaArk Marine, Inc., an ABYC member since 1995, increased their membership from a Manufacturing Membership to a Silver Level Membership. SeaArk Marine, Inc. has built all-welded aluminum boats for over 40 years. SeaArk supplies vessels to all branches of the U.S. Military and many other commerical and government entities.
Mr. John McClendon, President of SeaArk Marine, Inc., said, "Sea Ark Marine, Inc. has been a regular member of ABYC for going-on 10 years. We decided to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to safe boat construction and high industry ideals by upgrading our ABYC membership to the Silver Level." "SeaArk Marine's design, engineering, production, purchasing, and sales teams all benefit from ABYC membership in different ways," continued McClendon. "ABYC's voluntary standards and membership help define the requirements to which the entire industry should be striving to use as a guide for safer and better-built products," concluded McClendon.

SeaArk is a long-standing member of ABYC, and we are delighted that they have decided to increase their membership level. ABYC has been developing, writing and updating the safety standards for boat building and repair in the United States for going-on 50 years. ABYC is activley involved with the Internatioanal Organization for Standardization (ISO) as well as certification programs for marine technicians.
