ABYC Offers Electrical Systems in Boats Course

August 14, 2003, Edgewater, MD: The American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) will conduct its Electrical Systems in Boats seminar on September 8 - 9, 2003 at the Holiday Inn Sea Tac hotel in Seattle, WA.
The two-day seminar is designed to increase the students overall knowledge of AC and DC marine electrical systems. Class emphasis is on ABYC electrical standards, as well as circuit diagrams and panelboards. This course is primarily lecture with several demonstrations. Marine surveyors, boat builders and boat yard staff will learn about the following topics:
- AC & DC theory;
- Overcurrent protection;
- Stray Current Protection;
- Load Calculations & Panelboards;
- Lightning Protection… and more.
All ABYC courses can be used towards National Association of Marine Surveyors (NAMS) and Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS) education credits. NAMS and SAMS surveyors can earn 16 credit hours for attending this class.
