Electronic Versions of the 2006 ABYC Standards Just Released
Significant Revisions and Valuable Reports & Documents Included
August 2, 2006, Annapolis, MD: The American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) announced that the updated 2006 CD-ROM and Web-STIR (Standards & Technical Information Reports online) versions of the ABYC Standards and Technical Information Reports for Small Craft, is now available to ABYC members for purchase. There are 14 documents affected by this years Supplement #46, which include: A-1, A-7, A-22, A-26, A-30, E-4, E-10, H-1, H-8, H-26, H-37, H-41, S-40 and T-24. In addition to these updated documents, the electronic versions also include the following free features: All 5 Compliance Guidelines, the Rules & Regulations for Recreational Boats (CFR), access to the standards revised in 2003, 2004 and 2005, in addition to the complete set of 2006 Standards & Technical Information Reports.
John Adey, ABYC's Technical Director said, "The quality of our standards rests on the shoulders of our Project Technical Committee (PTC) members who dedicate so much time and effort to ABYC. Over 400 volunteers from all fields of the marine industry, as well as the U.S. Coast Guard and private boat owners make up our 18 PTCs. Through their diligence, we've been able to produce 14 updated documents this year, which directly affect the production of boats and their accessories. The electronic versions of our standards continue to be straightforward, user-friendly and loaded with information that is useful to our many diverse members."
